TERMINAL RULES

Obey the posted speed limit of 20 km/h.

The correct wearing of security vests is required while on terminal property.

  • Reflective vests must be properly worn at all times.
  • Approved safety footwear must be worn at all times.
  • Approved safety helmets must be worn while outside vehicles.
  • Terminals’ heavy equipments always have right of way.
  • Truck operators are required to wear seat belts at all times.
  • All traffic signs within the Terminals must be respected.
  • Truck operators are requested to remain in their vehicle at all times except while parked in service lanes or while overhead operations are in progress.
  • Truck operators have permission to exit their vehicles in order to verify the condition of containers picked up in the empty section.
  • To prevent the risk of being crushed a safe distance must be kept with all HEAVY equipment as well as CONTAINERS in motion.
  • Truck operators are responsible for all actions with regards to locking and unlocking twist locks.
  • All pedestrians MUST use the designated corridors.
  • When circulating throughout the terminals, vehicles must follow the indicated flow of traffic NEVER cutting through container blocks. They must also stay away from the Rubber Tired Gantry circulation lines.
  • Access to the terminal is strictly prohibited to all passengers, children and animals.
  • Possession and/or use of alcohol or non-prescription drugs is strictly prohibited.
  • The use of cell phones and/or radios while operating the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
  • The use of photograph and/or video equipment is prohibited at all times.
  • Any damage incurred prior to leaving the Terminal must be reported to duty superintendent or security officer.
  • All drivers must carry valid truck operator’s permit, vehicle registration and insurance certificates, at all times.
  • Engines must be turned off while registering when entering or exiting the access gates.

Failure to comply with these rules could result in the offender being suspended or prohibited from access to both MGT Terminals.
